When a second opinion makes sense
- the diagnosis is rare, unclear or recent;
- you have been offered major surgery or a treatment with significant side effects;
- the current treatment is not working as expected;
- there are several treatment options and you do not know which to choose.
How it works
We gather the relevant documents (reports, imaging, lab results, histopathology), translate them and send them to the chosen centre. The doctors there review the case; in oncology it may be discussed by a multidisciplinary tumour board. You receive a written, translated report that we go through together.
In most cases no travel is needed. If the doctors recommend a consultation or further tests, we organise that step too.
What you receive
- the specialist’s written opinion, translated;
- our explanation of what it means for you in practice;
- if you wish, organisation of treatment at that centre or contact with your doctor in Romania.
A second opinion does not replace your relationship with your treating doctor; it complements it, so decisions are made with all the information available.
